Story
We arrived at Wuying National Forest Park to enjoy the autumn sceery. At this time of year, Yichun had the perfect weather—not too cold and not too hot. As soon as we stepped into the forest, we were surrounded by layers of colorful trees. Red, yellow, and green blended together, painting the entire mountainside in the colors of autumn. We also flew our drone, and from above, the endless forest looked like a giant oil painting quietly stretching across the landscape. It was so beautiful that we could hardly take our eyes off it. There were especially many chipmunks in the forest that day. My wifey isn’t just popular with people—even the animals seem to love him. We brought some food to feed them, and one chipmunk actually jumped right onto his hand and started nibbling away with such pure satisfaction. No matter what I did, it refused to climb onto mine. Standing there watching, I couldn’t help feeling a little jealous—jealous of my wifey, and jealous of that lucky little chipmunk too. My wifey spent the whole walk feeding chipmunks and being completely charmed by these fluffy little creatures. Somehow, being around them made him even more adorable. I quietly watched from the side, becoming more and more fascinated. By the end, I couldn’t even tell whether it was the chipmunks I found cute, or my wifey. Later, we made our way up to the highest observation platform. The wind was strong at the top, but the moment the endless sea of autumn colors came into view, it felt completely worth it. We stood there for a long time, neither of us could bring ourselves to leave, and captured countless beautiful moments of autumn with our drone. I guess this is what autumn in Yichun is like—vibrant, peaceful, and impossible to say goodbye to. After leaving the forest, we continued toward our next destination. What should have been an ordinary drive turned into something unforgettable when we were suddenly greeted by a stunning pink sunset. Endless plains stretched alongside the highway, while fiery clouds filled the sky, painting the world in soft shades of orange and red. Without saying a word, we pulled over and took a few photos together beneath the glowing sunset. The most beautiful part of traveling is often not the places you plan to visit, but the unexpected moments along the way. Maybe it’s a chipmunk that chooses to jump into your hand. Maybe it’s a breathtaking sunset that appears out of nowhere. Or maybe it’s simply having someone beside you who is willing to share those moments with you. Looking back at the photos from that day, I realized that what we miss is never just the scenery itself. It’s the way we felt, the person we shared it with, and the simple, genuine happiness we experienced in that moment.
